Where can I, as an adult, bye fiction and nonfiction braille books? (self.Blind)
submitted by Shyanneabriana
I have tried all of the online stores and unfortunately they don’t have enough selection. I would love to buy and collect braille books as it has been my passion for years, but everything I have collected is beginner reader level and there’s nothing for older people to read.
I have looked at the braille book store online and I’m not too impressed with their selection. I want to actually keep these braille books and not have to return them and I just can’t find any good resources.
Any help would be lovely!

You can get a braille display for your computer, then you could read any ebook on it.

Yeah
I have that
It’s just not the same as having the paper copies of the books

Have you checked out the Lighthouse of the Blind? They have an online store. They might have books but I'm not sure. Best of luck.

I know you mean buying books and not just borrowing but if you haven't already, check out the National Library Service! The Library of Congress brailles a lot of new books every year and that is going to be your best bet for finding a specific book you need in braille

Most places wouldn't sell you books because they'd have to charge more than most people would willingly pay (which is the reason for such high prices at the Braille Superstore) or operate at a loss.

You can look at the $1, among other organizations. I haven't personally bought anything from them but they are well-established and respected.

Please don’t use the braille book store a few people have reported that the braille book store steales your info and uses your card.
