Sinking record label discography to iPod touch on Mac OS X? (self.Blind)
submitted by soundwarrior20
Hi everyone hope you’re all doing well and staying safe. I have some record label discographies I would like to sync to my iPod and have them come up via record label. As record label is not a category in the Apple meta tagging. What is the best way to do this? I’m thinking Create a smart playlist in Apple Music on Catalina and set it to watch the folder where the record label discography is stored. Does anybody have any other thoughts on how I could do this? Thanks very much for your help everyone.

You could select the discography in iTunes, and add the record label to the 'comments' field of the metadata. Then you can create smart playlists based on the comments.

To mass-edit the comments, select all the songs you want, right click and select 'get info'.

Thanks very much for this, is there a way in Apple Music to display songs by the finder folder there in? Could I display my record label discography using the recently added playlist? Thanks very much for all your help :-)

Unfortunately, I don't think sorting by folder is possible in Apple Music. Recently added should work, but it might not list the entire discography because I think it has a maximum number of songs.
