A wikipedia reader with quality speech (self.Blind)
submitted by architile
Hello,

I created a Wikipedia IOS app with speech recognizer and text to speech ( of high quality sounds especially for English, Spanish and Portuguese ) , and received good comments. I realised that visually impaired people interests in it, but i have very few feedback from the community. If you can help me improve it, it could serve better.

What i get until today is it is used for listening wikipedia not to get eyes tired, and some of the people uses it for improving their foreign language ( english and spanish mostly ). I have no info if controls serves well for visually impared / blind people, etc.

App : $1

Thank you for your comments.

Yeah, not really useful to me or blind people we already have something called screen reader and voice over. Seems like reinvention of the wheel.

I just use either my screenreader or ask Alexa to read it to me as I enjoyed listening to her voice

I'll check it out tomorrow but honestly, with our screen readers; we can read wiki articles very fast, depending on the speed and can jump to the parts we want.

I usually ask Alexa to read it to me as I prefer her voice

People who are not blind might use it but blind people can just use the internet and jump through headings and things like that to get to the info we need.

I downloaded the app a couple of months back, I didn't realise this until I went into my account for another app. I'll just use the internet, it's an interesting idea but I doubt blind people will use it as we already have tech for that kind of stuff.
