Been struggling with this because of school, but I might be able to make the deadline now. I'm not Canadian though which is definitely discouraging me from doing it.

You don't have to be Canadian.

What are they offering me in compensation? Oh. Nothing eh. So, they have received grant money to collecr and publish short stories. Why? We have a national organisation. The CNIB, which has been printing such submissipns in there free catalog and on the website(with permission) for decades.
Edit: I stand corrected. They are offering 0.06/ word.

$0.06 per-word

Well, they're offering $0.06 per-word, so not much, but also not nothing, and have a good story in mind.

I can bang out say 5000 words in a few days during spare time hours, so an extra $300. Can't really complain too much, especially if you enjoy writing.

PS. That page says deadline extended to Jan 31st, 2020.

Ummm... did you mean 2021, or what's the new deadline?
rkingett1 points2y ago
Publisher fixed it.

Ooooo.... I'm Canadian, blind, gay, and love to write. Talk about a perfect fit for this project.

I'll have a submission in by Jan 30th.

I don't use Microsoft though, so .docx format isn't going to work. I can do Open Office format, but doubt you guys use that. Hopefully markdown format is ok, as it's basically just plain text.

OpenOffice and LibreOffice can save in Docx format. Use OpenOffice and save it in Docx format.
