The way you dismiss other points of view and show an incredible amount of bias makes me never want to read these articles even when I agree with your points. It's insufferable and the only people you will reach talking this way are other people just like you who don't need the convincing anyway.

I'm not even trying to say that you don't have a good reason for feeling and acting like this, just that this is why people dislike your work and you'd be more successful if you could learn not to tare others down when trying to educate them.
And yes, there is a difference between pointing out uncomfortable truths and preemptively insulting people based on unfounded assumptions about their motivations. People don't listen well when they get defensive.... That's just how humans work whether you like it or not and I'm sure you know the feeling well your self.

Obviously you have allot of anger and resentment, and it's unfortunate that you've allowed it to define you like this because I believe you could achieve so much more if you dealt with that baggage properly rather than just spitting it right back out. I think any of us could end up like that in your line of work after a while so I'm not trying to say that you're outlook is invalid, but it isn't helpful either.

If you truly wanted to help move things forward on a wider scale than just your fellow jaded progressives, you would stop screaming into the void and find another less confrontational way to help, because you clearly don't have the right attitude for this right now.

Definitely agree here.

Possibly, but I'm not trying to be friends to conservatives. I don't want them as my audience, and I don't foresee that changing, like, at all.

People will hate me regardless if I care about right leaning points of view or not, so why even bother trying to be objective in any capacity? I don't get it.

I'll never settle. I'll always demand more.

"I'll always demand more"

"I don't want [conservatives] as my audience"

You need to think critically about this because your perspective doesn't make sense to me.

I'll always demand the establishment provide more. Still don't want socially, or financially, conservatives as my audience because they, like Liberals, maintain the Establishment while making sure Ableds are in excessive power and they also believe in Capital, which is, ultimately, financial hierarchy.

You act as if people can't change so why bother trying, or that everyone is one dimensional in their beliefs simply because they identify with a particular group for what ever reason.

I don't think you'd like it if I took the criticisms I have for you and applied them preemptively to anyone else I met calling them self a socialist... Or maybe you wouldn't care I don't know, but you probably see what I'm saying here.

As for keeping the establishment in power, most of us simply aren't willing to put our lives and the lives of those we care about on the line for a massive uncertainty. Call that weak if you want (it is) but it's also human. Plainly put, your movement needs better cohesion and less people like you representing it before the average person will start thinking of it as anything more than a pipedream and a historically dangerous proposition.

Until then, you can keep shunning the majority of the Earth's population for not meeting your unrealistic standards, or you can accept that at least a portion are doing what they can within the current system and help educate the rest. Because really, if you thought it was that hopeless than why would you waste your short time on this Earth venting to an uncaring audience?

Sounds like a dodge to me... They'll hate less and listen more at least if you don't kick people in the teeth as soon as they walk in the door.

You make allot of assumptions about what people's reasons for disagreeing with you are as well, and it seems you like labels quite a bit when applied to those you disagree with which is funny, given that people with your views don't usually like labels I thought?

This non liberals are all bad guys and anyone who thinks X must be a Y and also think Z crap is understandable given the current climate, but it's also not worthy of your intelligence, nor is it a good path forward historically.

Small point, I'm not a Liberal. I'm not a democrat. Liberals are fine with the status quo. I'm not. I'm a socialist.

Cool, as long as you aren't in charge of the yutopia.

I'm using google docs for revisions and stuff. I think it's even better than microsoft word since you can use the mobile apps freely. It has some annoyances, but for what you can do they aren't that bad.
rkingett 1 points 2y ago
Never tried comments and revisions on mobile. I'll give that a shot! I like the desktop version pretty well.

I think it can be used for these purposes. It has that annoying typing feedback on the ios app, unfortunately.
