Why aren't there good surrounding scanner devices? (self.Blind)

Hello everyone! I've been doing a lot of research into scanner devices like the Miniguide and Sunu Band but they seem so much more expensive than what their reviews indicate of their quality and capabilities. Does anyone have any suggestions for good scanner devices and/or know why there aren't any good ones on the market yet?

I don't think they exist yet. The ones that do are junk cash-ins, I bought one and it was worthless. A really good or well developed one of these might be great, but it's a serious UI and engineering challenge and no one with the interest or infrastructure wants to work on something that won't make much money. If you're the kind of person or org that can take on novel challenges like this there are ideas that will actually make you millions or billions.
