I have it! Diagnosed at 13. Currently M 28. It’s an incredibly slow process so chances are she’ll be able to see for years to come. And one generally never goes fully blind with this disease. Things to know. The Sun ☀️ is your enemy! Wear sunglasses at all times when outside. Next, our eyes cannot process vitamin A it turns to waste product that builds up in the eyes. Again she probably wont notice until a few years or even a decade from mow. She will still be able to live a normal life. Just has to be more aware of how her sight is being affected - especially if she has been driving. Oh and smoking cigarettes and doing drugs drastically increases the rate of degeneration.
