Stupid question, I know, but how exactly does this liquid level indicator work? I'm sure I'm not the only one that has one.

Bought one ages ago, but never needed it until now. We had a coffee maker where you just put one of thos little packs in the top, push the button, and the machine dropped 8 or 10 ounces into your cup. That broke though, so back to pouring coffee, and I brought my liquid level indicator out for the job.

Works great, except it doesn't shut up. I tried dring it off with a dish towel the best I could, but it just kept going. Not very nice when I'm awake at 5am, hours before anyone else. I ended up just taking out the batteries, and that did the trick.

Is there anything I'm missing here? Do I need to keep a blow dryer on hand, or something? That would make for an interesting conversation with the other folks in the house -- "why are you blow drying your coffee in the kitchen at 5am?", haha. Also, did they really need to make it sound like an annoying smoke alarm? Oh well, I think it was only $25, so not exactly a huge loss.

Would not buy.
