Has anyone figured out how to accessibly perform a mail merge with Google Sheets? (self.Blind)
submitted by Prefect316
I hope this kind of question is allowed. I can't imagine getting very helpful responses elsewhere.

Every option I see for mail merge with Google Sheets involves either using the Add-ons marketplace or the script editor from Sheets itself. Is either of these options accessible, are they both, or is one better than the other? I'd love any and all input here.

And I'm using Jaws 2020 with Chrome.

Hi, I'm the founder of Mailmeteor, the best-rated mail merge for Gmail.
I did accessibility tests in the past and had classes with students whom I taught how to use mail merge with Gmail. Two of the students are blind and could use the tool without a problem.

I'll be glad if you let me know how any accessibility issues that you may encounter and also to help you use the tool.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I think there may be add-ons for this in particular.
Is this for a mailing list of some sort, I’m not sure what you’re trying to do here.

I was thinking of eventually leveraging it for a mailing list, but for right now I would mainly use it for onboarding. I have been experimenting since I initially posted and find that YAMM is a good and generally accessible add-on. I wasn't sure how accessible add-ons were prior.

Some add-ons are accessible. It’s just a matter of getting into the menu bars. With jaws/NBDA, you can generally do alt shift T to get into the tools menu bar. Arrow down to add-ons, and select a mail merge ad on. From there, it’s just a matter of selecting the right columns. Hope this helps.
