Question about technology readers (self.Blind)
submitted by Impossible-Read-6427
Hi, I'm not blind or visually impaired but my grandfather is and it's becoming more server. And we have been told it won't get better. He loves dictionarys and word games he keeps trying to read with magnifying glass and large letters but it's not working as well anymore. I think he's struggling to admit things right now which I'm sure will improve in time. But I've been wanting to find a device that can read to him his dictionary and word games and I was hoping someone here may have advice on a device that's capable of doing this for him so he can use the word games he loves. If anyone had any ideas thank you.

Depends on what kinds of games your talking about. There are talking electronic dictionaries which are pretty easy to use.

That's the question I don't know what electronics there are that can do this and need advice on the names and where to find them. The types of games he plays are crossword puzzels and just simple dictionarys he really likes the ones where you got to find words too I don't know all of the names.

Try the franklin talking dictionary or search talking dictionaries. Also learning to use voice over on the iphones will be helpful. Learn to use screen readers and talking dictionaries which there are a few out there. The franklin is the most popular. The denial is probably something he will need to address. He may not want to learn or use them because of the denial.
