I made an android game for blind people (self.Blind)
submitted by GameDevNoob1
Hi all,

I bumped into this post here on Reddit, $1. It gave me some food for thought, and so, as a personal challenge, I decided to make a game specifically for blind people. It has a memory game, a sharpshooter game, a multiplayer game, and some sort of RPG game. Please do keep in mind, I am by FAR not a professional game developer. I am a total beginner, so don't expect too much playability/fun. It is free to play, there are no ads, and no hidden costs.

You can find the game at $1.
Note: The known bug is that the game sometimes starts with a Japanese accent. However, this should be rectified as soon as you start playing a game mode.

If you are interested in HOW I made the game, I made a small Dev log which you can find on Youtube here $1.

Unfortunately, I am absolutely not familiar with developing for IOS/Apple devices. If someone is, I am more than happy to provide all my code, sprites, and whatnot.

If I did anything wrong, I apologize. I do not mean to offend anyone their handicap. If you have any ideas, comments, or suggestions, please do let me know.

Have a great day all!

Cool. I am sighted and have been playing with the idea of getting into coding and programming apps for the blind. Maybe even make apps for those with other disabilities like paralysis. What programming language did you learn to make that game?

Hi Ace,

That's a fantastic idea!

I use C# with Unity3D. It's a development program designed for games but the possibilities are incredible. There is not too much experience I have in programming and development, but so far I can recommend Unity3D!

On YouTube there is a guy named "Brackeys" who gives great tutorials. A famous Youtuber named "Dani" is using Unity which could be fun and inspiring. Furthermore, the Reddit community of Unity3D is great.

If you have any questions, feel free to message me or reply here.

Thanks for the recommendation. And I watched your video. Pretty creative for someone who claims to be relatively new to programming. Keep up the good work.

I'm using IOS but this is awesome, well done!

There's a new site that's up and coming called accessidroid, you might be able to post on there too or write to them explaining your game.
