What do blind people dream about? (self.Blind)
submitted by Faded_American
Do blind people just hear in their dreams? Do they see the world how they think it would look like based off of all the things they have felt before or something like that! Pretty good question in my opinion.

Last night, this weird thing involving rabbits who were standing for election and competed in terms of who had the most spectacular hat. Hats were of the victorian ladies variety with feathers on them and stuff.

Why?

We dream the same things you do. People who have been blind since birth dream in feelings and conversations and sounds and doing things (so the same as you except they don’t see anything) and people who have lost their sight a relatively long time ago (me, I lost it 5 years agao at that point) dream normally, it just gets a lil blurry after so much time. Now regarding the actual topic of the dreams, that’s quite individual. I dreamed that I was foghting a war on a horse on a beach last night. And then it zoomed out and I was in a lava lamp the whole time. And I woke up beforr I could ask any questions.

My dreams I am usually not seeing visuals but instead a feeling of motion. I just know what is going on most of the time.

Once I dreamed I was playing DOOM

Probably should... Cut back on the video games or something, I don't know.

Since I was 22 when I began losing my vision, my dreams are pretty "normal". Most of the time, I'm just replaying old memories.

Usually normal things for me I usually dream pretty everyday stuff.nothing to crazy.

Mostly dream using other senses like normal life and no vision.

I think is a very interesting question to ponder, especially for people like myself who don’t know anything else but how we see the world. I’m legally blind and have been for as long as I can remember. I have no concept of 20/20 vision or even “good” vision for that matter. My brain simply cannot comprehend reading a road sign, for example, so therefore I have never dreamt of it. A lot of my dreams are actually third person, so I watch a lot of people from above, but that doesn’t change my vision. I might not be able to see the details of that road sign, but I still know what it says because dream magic. So for me, my vision does not change in my dreams. I have no idea what that would even look like
