I didn't watch much of the video. But I don't have to. I've seen more or less everything there is to see both on the good and the bad side of the online blind communities throughout my years.

One thing that remained consistent, though, is the lack of professional video content, from smaller blind youTubers. Yes, I get it, not all of us are good with cameras, not all of us care about that. But if I'm going to put myself out there, to be potentially viewed by sighted, please, make sure your video is at a presentable standard. That could be as little as eliminating screen reader chatter as much as possible, microphone not sounding like you're miles away from it... Basic little things alike will get you much further, while giving you credibility.

Needless to say, most of the community, despite at least 40% of them having a youTube chan, never talk about their lack of professional content. It's something I would certainly mention if I ever made something such as this. Then again, I'm a die heart texter, so chances are, I would send pages and pages of text explaining all this. I find it's easier to put my thoughts in text than voice.

Sorry, I don't mean to sound rude but that's a 2 hour long video and your mic (if you are the creator) isn't always the clearest, so it's difficult to listen to while also doing other things using a screen reader. What is it about?

So the video is mainly about the NFB Louisiana Center Sexual Abuse thing, but the intro is like half an hour long.

I'd say that the fun starts at about 18:23 if you want to hear general thoughts on NFB philosophy and 30:40 if you want to hear the main point of the video.

Expect many loosely related tangents still though.

If you want anyone to watch that, you should ad least say what is about. Because it's like two hours long

I found myself skipping through to get to the point, and never really worked out if there actually was a point. Can someone summarise? I mean that's a feature film's worth of um, er, well, you know.

I'm also a bit put off by people who start off by announcing their sexuality. I mean, um, what? I don't walk into a room with a banner reading "I'm Jan and I'm straight and blind." Too much information? Relevance? Who cares?

Based on the comments, this sounds like a pretty important topic. Thing is, I'm not going to watch a video that's nearly 2 hours long, has no script, and crappy audio.

This is definitely an issue that needs much more amplification, so thanks for sharing this, OP. But I agree with everyone else that a 2 hour video is not going to help in that cause. Yes some people watch 6 hour streams but they are far from the majority and often are doing so because of a niche interest.

Don’t expect anyone to watch a two hour long video. Edit it down to 10 to 15 minutes and then you might get some traction

From the comments it sounds extremely negative and one sided and probably a bit exaggerated. Is it an issue? Maybe? But if you dress it up as so extreme it’s a bit offputting too.
