Is it rude of me to ask one specialist about a procedure with another specialist?(self.Blind)

I had a retina exam recently for the first time in a while. They found I had more lattice degeneration in one eye and flat holes at 12 o’clock in the other so we’re doing proactive laser to guard the lattice and protect the holes. Thankfully no affect to my vision besides the usual flasher/floaters.
I’ve had laser many times (3-5+) per eye and thankfully all my prior laser looks sound.
I have also gone back to a strabismus surgeon recently per my optometrist to get a better grasp on the best option for my glasses rx. My optometrist wanted the strabismus specialist’s opinion as she’s the expert. The strabismus surgeon was pushing for surgery, which I was previously told was not an option because of my RoP. My old retina doctor (retired) agreed.
I made a comment to my new retina doctor about how I want to avoid detachment and have been avoiding strabismus surgery (currently trying prism stickers, hate it, not very helpful).
My retina doctor just said “don’t let your retina detatch”. I know he was saying it in a humerus way, but I wonder if he was avoiding the question. I know the surgeon would consider all possibilities, but strabismus surgery seems so tough anyway with some needing repeat surgery etc.
Do you think it would be rude to ask his opinion on strabismus surgery before my laser surgeries?
