Last i checked, the discord app on iOS was not accessible and messaging people was hard.
Wondering if it got better before creating a new account. So, is it accessible now?

It's better now. All the important bits are accessible enough. Scrolling the chat list is a bit wonky, but it does work. Images can make Voiceover chug, but it's temporary.

tl;dr It's far from perfect, but it's usable. I use it on a daily basis to talk with my friends and partner on an iPhone 11 running iOS 14.2.

The new beta release for desktop says there are a ton of accessibility improvements and I know at least one blind person who uses it with the keyboard only. I don't know much about the iOS version -- u/fastfinge do you have any insight here?

I recommend the Discord Canary program for Windows. It's completely accessible.

It’s serviceable but not great — better than the Desktop app, which I can’t get to work with NVDA at all.

Not sure what’s up with your copy of NVDA, I use it pretty regularly and it works very well.

Weird. I’ll have to play around with it a bit. For me, it stays focused at the name of the Channel, and won’t navigate anywhere else. The only way I can get it to read messages aloud is by panning over them with my mouse, but my vision isn’t always great enough to be able to do that.

Are you using browse mode? You definitely need to be doing that. The mouse isn't going to be necessary.

I know I just updated it to the newest version the other day, though I don’t know the version number off the top of my head.
