I want to create visual novels/text adventures that are screen reader friendly (self.Blind)

does anyone know what method i can go about making something like this? i am visually impaired and I'd really like to make some visual novels but i"d like to try to make them screen reader friendly if possible, and am unsure what program/methods I may be able to use do get to this point. any help is appreciated!

Some engines have what is called self voicing to refer to blind accessibility. Ideally you would have a voicover before even the title screen saying something like "press v to enable self voicing". Having to navigate to enable it is a little self-defeating after all.

thank you so much! this is super helpful i wasnt sure what the name of accessibility tools were for game developers and web developers in general so this is really great!
