audible air hockey (self.Blind)

does anyone have any ideas how I can modify an air hockey puck to improve accessibility for my total lack of sight?
naturally I don't want to impede the low-friction nature of the puck's surface.
Is there any sort of infrared sticker that I could attach with a couple of programmable receivers? a powered speaker with a very small profile?
Some sort of beed that can move around the top of the puck itself whilst not falling off?

Any ideas welcome, happy to DIY and ruin a few in experimentation

Did you ever find one that makes noise? My son cannot see and we just got an air hockey table.

Post this in r/3dprinting with measurements of your puck and I bet you get several clever solutions...

What about one of those singing Christmas or birthday cards, that start playing a little midi song when you open them? They’ll be very low profile because they have to fit into the card itself, so that should hopefully be thin enough to fit into the goal and not get knocked off.

Another option is getting a “hover puck” — these are somewhat larger toys (nearly a foot or 30 cm wide) that hover on their own on any flat service (the size is for their fans and such). Then you wouldn’t be constrained by having to go through the goal, and they noise they make may be sufficient to locate it without adding anything. These would be better for like hover soccer / football, or (gently) using a hockey stick on.
