How to Search YouTube App on iPhone SE (self.Blind)
submitted by lalalinnb
Hello all,

My brother has a new goal for his phone, as we're still learning how to use it. He wants to know if there is a way to search the YouTube app, not the internet, for a video via Siri or another avenue of accessibility.

For instance, if he says "Hey Siri, search Dragon Ball Z on YouTube." it still takes him to videos on the internet, and those are difficult for him to get to at the moment.

Any suggestions?

Does he know how to use voiceover?

Open youtube, swipe about 3 times and double tap on the search button and then either type or tap twice with 2 fingers and speak what you want to search ffor, then double tap on the bottom right to search.

I’ve found the easiest way to do this is to add a shortcut. If using Voiceover, make sure the shortcut doesn’t open voice search because it doesn’t play well with voiceover. Set the shortcut up for a search to open on YouTube then do a two finger double tap to dictate your desired search. Only Android allows you to search YouTube like the way you are describing right now.
