Hello! Trying to find a deck of playing cards for my friend. He is completely blind and doesn’t know braille. Cards with indented numbers and letters would be awesome. Any advice?

Yeah, he should learn braille.

This. If he is really completely blind, he'll need to know braille eventually. What a great way to start.

If for no other reason than to play cards!

And play cards better. If you can read those bumps as you deal, you can win every poker game!

It'd be hard because you'd have to do it backwards, because you aren't dealing face up, but you probably could, yeah.

Unfortunately some people just can't learn it. I know a few people that tried for years and can figure out a few letters but that's it.

Are these people who lost vision? I learned it when I was four, and so for me it was just learning to read.
Also cards might be the best teaching tool.

Yes. One lost his vision around 40ish and the other around 11-12. Neither could learn it but it could have been because they were older.

If you can’t find any, you can make some. There are 3D foam stickers you can find in craft stores. I don’t think they’re expensive, and if you need symbols, you can buy a full sheet of sticky foam and cut them out

Hey thanks!!

You’re very welcome!

Just learn braille.

MPC makes raised cards, but I don’t think they’re enough to do touch. And honestly if he could read them, it would be just as easy to read Braille. https://www.makeplayingcards.com/impressions-by-mpc.aspx
