Question about formatting text for Braille display (self.Blind)
submitted by just--questions
I am sighted, and am converting a manual to a word document that can be used with a blind person’s Braille display. The problem is the manual has at least one sidebar on every page. Is there a standard notation for this?

I’m assuming I’ll have to decide where the sidebar fits best in the body of the text, but is there a way to indicate that it’s a sidebar, and not a part of the continuous main body of text?

Thank you for any advice!

You could write "Begin sidebar" and "End sidebar".

Probably put it towards the bottom of the page but don’t disrupt any flow of a sentence. After the last full paragraph?
