My husband and I met through our college class page before freshman year. Vision loss should not be a deterrent to a future partner. When I originally found out my husband was blind, it was more intriguing than deterring. Although, he has come to terms with his blindness and has a positive mindset regarding it . Although it may be cliche, you will find the right person at the right time. Online seems to be the easiest when it comes to dating with vision loss, especially if it is a site like “tinder” where you can show yourself with your cane or mobility aid. Don’t give up!

I've never done online dating, I'm now taken and it didnt really appeal to me anyway, but speed dating was brilliant when I did it. Or dating via group/organised meet ups. The radio stn I listen to used to do singles nights twice a year but with covid they arranged a few zoom dates. How about a dating agency?

Have integrity, work hard, and be sincere. Make good friends who are willing to introduce you to people. If you have real achievements, it will give you confidence. If you are a good person, and seeking a real relationship, not just physical gratification, the right person will see it eventually. Treat people with respect. This might not find you a relationship quickly, but long term, you only need one. None of this is specific to being blind either. Basically, be a good person and eventually someone will see.
