Braille labeling (self.Blind)
submitted by spider_lord
I'm trying to find a Braille labeler for my media collection. Any recommendations? Can you put normal labeling paper in it, or do you have to use a thicker sheet for embossing? Thanks for any help you guys can give me on this.

You should check out embossables or braillables by American Thermoform. They’re transparent sheets that are adhesive, and a little bit thick so the dots don’t smoosh too much. You can Braille them with a slate and stylus, or use them with a Perkins brailler, or even a machine embosser.

I use the Reizen RL-350,although it's really plastic now and the metal-bodied one was so much better.

I got one of the mettle labelers for Christmas in second grade. 30 years later that sucker still works. Even a tornado tareing a house down around it didn’t put a mark on it.

PS. It was sitting next to a Purkins Brailler which flew off to Oz.
