Honestly, you've won half the battle by acknowledging that you need to learn some skills. I can't tell you how many people I've met who lose vision and immediately assume their life is over.

Depending on where you are, start looking into state resources for VR. They can get you set up. If there's a Lighthouse in your area, they're a great resource and can help you get set up. In the meantime, look into accessibility options on your computer--if you're using a Mac, apple has an accessibility hotline you can call and they'll walk you through things.

This is the Apple Accessibility Phone Number: (877) 204-3930.

I saved it for my blind mom, but she hasn’t worked up the courage yet. Happy to see someone can use it.

Do some googling and research. Depending on your state and country, there may be government or private ways to learn

Look to see if you have s society for the blind around you. Get in touch with your local national Federation for the blind chapter. If you’re employed or want to get employed look into Department of rehabilitation .

Check into your local area for what services there are. Different states (or countries, if you aren't from the US) have different services and different ways to sign up to those services.

Look at your state resources as many said there’s likely to be some there’s always blind places that are private that could also be very helpful.
