Talk to your doctor about ocular vitamins. There is some evidence that it helps with macular degeneration. You may also find amber tinted sunglasses to make bright sunlight more comfortable. A low vision specialist would be able to tell you more about that, and if there is any funding for equipment.

Are you seeing a retina specialist? If you suspect AMD, you should be. Also, this thread is not active at all but there are several on Facebook that have a lot of support and advice. I have AMD but I’m not aware of a darkness adaptation test. I get put through quite a few tests every six months but that’s a new one on me. Make sure you’ve got the correct diagnosis. Good luck.

All that needs to be looked out, definitely. I also have a hard time going from light to dark or vice versa. We painted our front stairs a dark brown earlier this year and, boy, was that a mistake. Taking the dogs out at night is now treacherous. I don’t know that that is AMD though. AMD is a loss of central vision; peripheral vision is generally maintained. You need that RS appointment.
