Accessible Massage Chairs and/or Massage Chair Apps (self.Blind)
submitted by bondolo
Anybody using a fancy massage chair that has an accessible interface that they like?

We've been looking for a couple of years for something usable by a blind person but all the chairs have gotten less accessible over the years as they move from buttons to flat touch screen controls.

Lately though some of the chairs have apps which might provide accessibility again. Of course that would require that the app be accessible. We've tried to test some of the apps on android and ios and had some successes and failures but none of the apps allow full exploration without an actual chair so we can't be sure that the chair will be fully usable.

Good experiences? Bad experiences?

I can't answer your question, but I have a couple of suggestions.

First, if you have a chance and feel comfortable to go to a retailer, I'm sure they'd be happy to let you test out their display models with your phone.

Since that's hardly ideal these days, you might want to approach the question from the opposite direction and find a forum dedicated to these products and see if somebody can try VoiceOver or TalkBack with their chair.
