I'm not a programmer, but playing New Horizons I wondered if such a game that focuses on space warfare between players would be profitable. There could be a number of planets and each faction should try to conquer as many of them as possible. Of course, if the focus was only on conquest, most players would give up in less than 5 minutes. I'm thinking of a combination of New horizons and Survive the wild, in which members of the faction that conquered that solar system can build things. If, for example, only 5 factions were introduced to which all players would be obliged to adhere at the beginning, the problem of complexity would be solved. With predetermined factions, they will be in some balance in terms of the division of solar systems. It's just a concept, most likely if implemented in this form, it would not enjoy popularity. What do you think? Do you have any ideas that could make the concept more interesting? After all, a few dozen minds are much better than one.
Who knows? It wouldn't be the first time that something beautiful could develop from a seemingly impractical idea ...
