Hello! Fellow, born-with-a-cataract-now-blind-in-left-eye person here.

Please go get your eye pressure checked by your doctor.

Children who have had cataract surgery will always be at risk of glaucoma because of it. I've been using glaucoma drops for awhile now in my left eye and it really helped with the pain.

Omg thank you so much for this

No problem! My pupil and iris are also all wonky so I feel like we've gone through very similar experiences. I hope your doctor can get you some relief soon!

If it's lights that cause pain, maybe consider a scleral shell? I have one covering my bad eye (no light perception in my case) and it's indistinguishable from my good eye. It is a big, opaque plastic shell that covers your entire eye. In my case it has some physical support for the socket as well since my eye has no pressure either. The shell can be removed easily with a small suction cup. Personally I take mine off couple times a year for cleaning but you can do it more frequently, every night etc. Good luck.

Please check yourself for eye pressure. Maybe it’s eye strain

Wear a contact lens to correct the eye's color? For the pain.. only doctor can say what to do.

Nobody here can give you medical advice, but if a patch helps, wear it. If anybody asks about it, just ask them if they've seen any chests full of pirate booty.

Hello fellow born with cataract in left eye, last time I was at an eye doctor (which to be fair was a few years ago) there was no surgery they could do to restore vision in the eye. The way they explained it to me was even if they could make the eye physically fine it wouldn't change anything cause due to the vision lost at such a young age the neurol pathways between the brain and eye never developed past what you, I and many other can see out of their blind eye. That's all I have with this topic just hang in there and know that you're not alone.

No one can give you medical advice; that is what your doctor can tell you. I would see if the doctor can help you figure what is causing the pain. Is it eyestrain? Dry eye? Something else? That information might help point the way to a solution. Ask questions and seek out a second opinion if you want. Make sure that they know that your concern is pain in the eye. Good luck!

It is eye strain i believe.. before I had pain in my bad eye because I was wearing a contact in that eye (although it barely improved my vision IF at all). I haven’t worn contacts now in over a month. So we’ll see. Thanks so much
