There is an app for the blind called Bard and it is all audiobooks, magazines, etc. get the app and maybe there will be some sort of contact information so you can let them know you are interested

I had no idea this existed! Does it cost anything?

You register with the National library service, and I think you have to be in the US and need proof of medical need. One of my vision-related medical providers coordinated with my local library to get me registered. I think organizations for the blind can sometimes do it too, so I don’t really know who is allowed to set it up. You don’t have to be blind, but you do have to have a proven medical barrier to reading print. Definitely look into it, I signed up recently and it’s awesome.
To OP, some of the books are the commercial versions and some are read by volunteers. Perhaps you could volunteer?

No, it’s free. It might only be accessible in the United States only. you will have to prove you are blind to get access. Not sure of the process, I was in rolled in the program long before the app was created. I would get the books sent tome via cartridge that was mailed to my house.A lot of the books are read by volunteers, but they do have some books from the commercial market.

Be mindful of copyright. BARD, which someone else mentioned, is legal because of an exception in the Copyright Act, whereas just reading books over the internet yourself might not be legal.

I'd be down to listen! There's a ton of books that are not narrated and not digital! Most newer things are at least Kindle accessible now but there's a few that never got Kindle from the 90s/00s

Interesting idea the most tricky thing is legality for sure or do zoom calls and read books aloud that way?

I use Audible all the time, my library for the blind here in Canada also has thousands of audio books for free, I also read books in my word processor and in Braille.
I think your idea sounds great, and I wish you best of luck with it. What you might want to do is to check out LibriVox, they record audio books in the public domain and are always looking for volunteers. Because otherwise you would probably have to seek out permission from the publisher for each individual book.
