Looking for an accessible dating site or app (self.Blind)

Hey I use jaws on my computer and voice over on my phone and am looking for an accessible dating site or app. I would prefer something completely free or something that lets you do mostly everything for free. I like seeing profiles and such and of course not being focused on pictures I would prefer something i can use on both my phone and computer but if thats not available i am on my computer more than my phone. I have tried and payed for several sites with there degrees of inaccessibility. Plenty of fish was interesting but to see most of the profile you had to pay for the site. Ok cupid had accessibility problems and almost everything else i found was about the same or cost more than the law should allow. But if anyone knows of anything please let me know thanks.

Tinder, Bumble, Facebook dating (If available in your region), and OK Cupid all have varying levels of accessibility, and I’ve used all of them. Sadly most dating apps/sites these days are heavily picture-based – You’ll just have to look at bios and do your best with what limited information exists.

Yeah agreed, I’ve had some luck with tinder, usually swipe right or press the like button on people with interesting bios. It can be hit or miss of course but that’s the same for any kind of dating site or app

I hate guessing who liked you that screen isn’t the easiest to use to find your match the buttons could be labeled easier to use with clearer labels and i can’t type this morning. I am almost to the point of making my own dating site. I may grab tender again. It was interesting but swiping has never been a strong point of mine and finding the buttons is fun.

OKCupid is okay on the computer. You still have to pay to see your likes and messages though. No dating site is free these days.

When i tried ok Cupid i had trouble using the site to fill in my profile in general. Then i just didn’t pay to renew it but it was cheap compared to others. Like sixteen bucks compared to fifty for three months. I don’t know but it was cheaper.
I mean even if it was twenty for three months I could do that but fifty for three months thats crap for what they give you.

I have used Hinge, and it is accessible on IOS, though, like most app-based dating platforms, it relies heavily on photos.

I am having troubles with hinge completing my profile. Replacing photos is a nightmare. I select the photo select a prompt hit done and it just sits there. Or when i go to finish work on my profile voiceover cannot see the done button anymore. Sighted people can see it but i cannot so it looks like I will need to get a sighted person to help me finish up my profile for me. I am corrosponding with the folks at hinge about the problems. Right now its lost in my albums and will not activate the months and let me pick photos properly so yeah its odd. Still waiting on tech support have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. So i cant send likes or anything and it’s not matching me with anyone because my profile is only 33 percent complete.

I wasn’t able to use the photo-selector either, so asked a sighted person for help. The prompt-selector, and the whole process of swapping out prompts/answering them is very difficult with VoiceOver. Once the profile is set up, “Liking users, and skipping them, as well as the messaging features are fully accessible.) Some of the button labels are a little strange, but otherwise it should work, once you get set up.
