what do you do for fun during lockdown? (self.Blind)

I don't have much free time since we have a baby and an eight year old here, but, I like watching things on Netflix, listening to music, listening to NPR, reading books, playing guitar, and making coffee among other things.

Any good coffee recommendations? We are big fans here. :)

The best stuff is the fresh roasted sort. But it’s a bit expensive.
Laser_Lens_4 3 points 2y ago
Same things as others. Exercise, read stories, write stories, listen to music, buy stuff from bad dragon, browse the Internet, learn to make new foods, stuff like that.
Dellthorak [OP] 3 points 2y ago
Yeah I do all of those, except exercise. Is that where the bad dragon stuff comes into play?
Laser_Lens_4 1 points 2y ago
No, I have a treadmill for that. Bad dragon is just for fun.
guitarandbooks 2 points 2y ago
Bad dragon? One thing came to mind but it's probably not what you're talking about... Or hey, maybe it is. Maybe it's just me thinking this.
Laser_Lens_4 1 points 2y ago
This sub is pretty lax, but For the sake of not getting too terribly NSFW, if you're thinking of those weird furry people who like platinum-grade silicone, then yes, I am talking about that Bad Dragon.

Audiobooks (I’m digging ‘the Three Body Problem,’ by Liu, and also a couple Ishiguro books right now), podcasts (‘Writing Excuses’ is entertaining if you're into writing sci fi/fantasy, or even if you just read it), family walks in less busy areas, music, etc.
AlwaysLilly 2 points 2y ago
Reading, listening to podcasts, some gaming, crocheting, Netflix etc.
TheBlindCreative 2 points 2y ago
I’m a crocheter too! Out of curiosity, what have you been making? I need some project inspiration.
AlwaysLilly 1 points 2y ago
I do really easy stuff - a double crochet “Netflix” blanket that I work on when hubby has the tv on it I’m listening to an audiobook. I also made a ponytail holder hat for my daughter where it’s a normal hat but instead of starting a circle in the round, you crochet around a hair elastic.

My kids want some infinity scarves for ice fishing, I just have to grab the yarn they want. A friend made some really cool Among Us Amigurumi like$1that I want to attempt someday as my kids would flip.

I've tried to order exercise equipment twice, but the suppliers cancelled the order. It seems there's been a bit of a run on it (ha ha.) Really wish the gym was open.

I'd be a sphere if I never went running and I have met one person to do it, despite the lockdown where we are. I guess we could call it a support bubble and be legal but I'm not sure if I'm really breaking the rules, as people are allowed to meet for various special purposes. We've never been questioned yet.

Other than that I am a musician by trade and I found last summer if I don't play for even a week I get rusty very fast. On the upside, small amounts of work have started to trickle back in. On the downside, sometimes that means traveling into the nearby big city, which has risks.

If you need more equipment free workouts, Eyes Free Fitness has free downloadable workouts on their website and YouTube channel.

R/socionics

I’ve spent a lot of time doing this and getting the hang of it. And also typing myself my best current guess is lse but lie could work as well. Talking to people about it. Reading a book on kindle about it by Ekaterina Filatova. Sat a couple of typing interviews will sit one on saturday to be typed by a very famous russian socionists and psychology. I do western jung. Like

R/mbti

R/jungiantypology

as well

I have been socializing with people

Reading typology and political stuff.

Also I run a youtube typology channel and that’s taken a lot of quarantine time like 300 or so hours? I’ve typed over 100 people interviewed and figured out their strengths and weaknesses.

I have been knitting, crocheting, reading, listening to podcasts, and struggling through Zoom University. I am also learning how to spin wool into yarn. I am hoping to learn how to sew too.

Netflix, skating at the local rink (alternate between trailing the boards and using long cane if the rink is empty)

Be bored. The place I played basketball at closed the basketball courts (I actually am good at free throws and 3 pointers despite my vision....). And so I sit at a pc or watch tv all day and then get eye and head issues form doing it.
