Get a heat resistant glove so that you don’t burn yourself if you touch the curling wand.

I prefer to use curlers myself. Curling irons don't tend to hold very well unless I use hairspray, which I hate. Usually with curlers it stays put all day. I don't have enough hair to curl right now, but that's what I did in the past.

I know it’s old-school but could you use curlers? I’m not blind but after a few times doing it I could do my whole head in curlers without even looking in the mirror. A lot of it depends on what you’re trying to achieve exactly.

I like to practice the motion with my hands. Use one hand to act as the curling wand and with the other, wrap your hair around it. Another option is using a straw or something, really anything round will work.
I’ve also found that learning how to French braid my hair makes the curls a lot easier to deal with. Good luck!!!
