Mac OS HTML editor that doesn’t rely on manual coding (self.Blind)
submitted by Fireteddy21
Hey all, just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for a Mac OS HTML editor that isn't entirely dependant on manual coding. I do know some limited code, but I'd like to get something that’s accessible with Voiceover and allows me to create a page as if it were a document in a word processor. It would just save me a lot of time and headaches with coding. (I use Wordpress as a platform, but there is a section of my site where I'm hosting old pages I made myself when I could see. I just want to edit/add to those, which is what I'd need this app for.)

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Depending how much you need to edit. Create using markdown then export to html

Coda was decent with VoiceOver, though I wasn't as impressed with their new Nova app. What are you trying to do specifically? I do all my HTML and CSS in TextEdit. If you are creating a page from scratch, Microsoft Word will allow you to create HTML within a word processing environment provided you use the correct styles for headings and elements.

I’m really just looking to save some time editing past HTML files I had and creating new ones. I do have limited Coding knowledge, but it would just save me a lot of time if I could highlight text and hit a button to turn it into a heading for example. Same goes for background colours and different stuff like that.

The stock Wordpress editor should actually do just fine for this. I'm not refering to the new one they just came out with called gutenberg, which although isn't as bad now is still rather confusing to use with a screen reader. But if you install the classic editor plugin and turn it on you should get pretty much exactly what you're asking.

This isn’t what I need. The pages I’m editing and building for this specific section of my site don’t use Wordpress or any themes. They are just being hosted on the same server and are being created/edited without Wordpress. This is why I need to be able to adjust fonts, set background colors, etc. (sorry, I don’t mean to be blunt about it, it’s just that I’m already building a separate section on my website with word press and this is something different.)

That's interesting. WordPress isn't typically used without themes and stuff. Are you just giving your users a direct link to the pages on the server?
