Described Anime (self.Blind)
submitted by Gooseman081784
My son is legally blind and degenerating (LCA). He enjoys anime and wants to watch more. I have been describing it so far for him but wonder if there are professional described versions out there. They probably do a much better job than I do and he would not be limited to when I have time to watch with him.

Thanks in advance

You missed Full Metal Alchemist (the movie) and Death Note (the movie).

Some of the Anime that u/etalasi mentioned is in English, (such as the War For Cybertron), but some are described in Japanese. I don’t think that dubbed versions are currently described, but another place to check is Amazon Prime Video. If you google “Audio Description Project,” you can find a list of described movies and TV shows on various platforms, (such as Apple TV, Netflix etc), they may have a more thorough list of Anime titles there.

Wait, is Transformers made in Japan?

I think Transformers is originally a Japanese franchise, but I’m not sure.

This may be a little off topic but have you thought about showing him action audiobooks? I think there may be manga audiobooks too. (Manga is the comic book form of Anime usually made before the anime). Even better there is something called “Light Novels” that are made in Japan and made by the people who make anime that is basically an anime in book form and they have audiobooks ready to listen to.
