Interview for bachelor thesis about accessibility and data privacy(self.Blind)
submitted by Journalist_Powerful
Hello,
I am a bachelor student in Estonia. I am planning to do my thesis in accessibility and data privacy, in particular about cookie banner and how to make it accessible for visually impaired users. I am looking for two participants who would be willing to have around 60 minutes interview.
The ideal participants that I am looking for are:
\- European Union citizens or European Union residents
\- Using screen reader technology and familiar with it
I plan to have an interview around March after my topic being approved by my thesis committee
I will offer compensation of 10 Euro in a form of gift card or direct transfer. I am a student who is doing an unpaid internship (sadly) so unfortunately I can not give too much of compensation. I also appreciate if someone wants to share a bit of story on this topic.

Thank You!

Also not in the EU, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU! That is such an important and underrated topic and I am so glad that you are covering it.
Let me know if there is any ohter way I can help, though!

I'm an EU citizen, and I think the single best advice you can give to people is to not use tracking technologies and thus cookie consent pop-overs. The problem is that pretty much every cookie consent request I've experienced violates the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) one way or another: either by denying service if you reject cookies, by making the use of cookies opt-out rather than opt-in, by clearly driving people towards accepting all cookies by making the opt-out process more difficult, or by periodically nagging when people choose to not consent to the use of cookies.

I'm not an EU citizen but I've dealt with the banners before, so if you can't find the people you need, feel free to send me a message.

Thank you! I think I’ll message you later to get more insight also to develop my idea. It seems that I will expand my scope to not only include EU citizens or residents.
Our mission is to provide everyone with access to large- scale community websites for the good of humanity. Without ads, without tracking, without greed.
