tips for minimizing hand strain when using Braille displays? (self.Blind)
submitted by Motya105
I’ve noticed that after reading on a Braille display for a couple of hours, my hands start cramping, and i need to shake them out. This happens no matter what position I’m reading in. Does anyone have any exercises or tips for relaxing the hands after long periods of reading, or exercises for strengthening the hands, so they can withstand longer stretches of reading time? I’m using a 32-cell BrailleNote apex if that helps. Thanks for any advice!

I’ve never noticed that I usually read comfortably with it on my lap and I am in a relaxed position. I can read for hours and hours my brain gets more worn down over hands.

Hi, look forChinies Balls. These are used to exercise hands, focusing on their dexterity.

Is the braille display on your lap or on a table? It's much better to have it on a table.

There’s strain even when it’s on a table.
