Visually impaired friendly Instagram (self.Blind)
submitted by Agodders
I'm am aware that the whole purpose of Instagram is fast content delivery in image form isn't all that friendly in context. However I am currently working on channeling all the excess covid coping mechanism cooking into a foodie insta page and want to make the effort to be more accessible. I'm not visually impaired personally so would be super appreciative of any hints/tips/personal preferences that people have to be more accessible.
I am aware of the alt text function and the importance of capitalising each word in a hashtag, but any expansion and addition to that would be very appreciated.

Alt text is great, but putting the description in the caption as well is also really helpful! (Most people just hit enter a few times and add the caption).

Yes! Or “alt text available” in the description.

What's the page? I'll gladdly check it out!

@wanderingtasting - please be warned there's currently a 'holding' screen situation while I sort my content and write some more meaningful captions for what I have already. I hope it's somewhat entertaining, albeit repetitive and not that interesting just yet. Thank you in advance though!

Of course! Just shot you a follow and liked some of your pics while I was at it. You do a really wonderful job discribing the immages.
