Is rosetta stone accessible for us blind people? (self.Blind)
submitted by socheat7396
Hello all,

This is my first time here posting to this sub reddit.

So, my question is, do rosetta stone accessible to people who use the screen reader in 2021? I'm interested in learning Japanese, that's why I'm asking here.

Thanks guys and stay safe.

It most likely isn't, but there are far better resources out there anyway.

for reading/writing I would say go look at $1 and $1 , as well as $1

For audio there's a large amount of resources, I recommend looking at the wiki for the learnjapanese reddit.

Screenreader-wise, especially if you have a braille display, I highly recommend picking up a Japanese copy of NVDA, that way you have the Japanese braille table and some japanese-only little extras that come in handy when learning kanji. $1 from memory, may need to remove the .co.

Good luck :)

I’m a sighted person and honestly Rosetta Stone is actual garbage for learning languages, especially considering how expensive it is it is not very good. If I had to guess I don’t think it would work with a screen reader because while it does read the text to you anyways it is super heavily reliant on using images for questions

Thanks for your help, guys. Much appreciated. So I won't be getting Rosetta stone then.
