Hi all, I recently launched a new mobile app for iPhone and Android called Vybit, pronounced VIBE-it, that I think will be very useful to this community. Vybit sends notifications using personalized sounds that you record yourself or choose from a library of thousands of searchable sounds. The basic idea is that the sound itself conveys the information about the notification and you do not need to read anything. For example, a cow mooing to remind you to bring in your milk from the porch, the sound of thunder to tell you that it is going to rain, or your own voice saying "time to take your medicine". You can read about and listen to more examples
$1.
Vybit notifications can be triggered in many ways which you can read about
$1, but one of the most common ways to send vibes is using Vybit as an action channel with automation platforms like IFTTT and Zapier. Automation platforms provide a trigger-action model that you can use to tie together your digital services. In this case your trigger services could include your calendar, email, social media accounts, location, and smart home systems. Vybit would be the action service that makes the distinct sounds that you choose for each of the specific events coming from your trigger services. A feature also worth mentioning is that you can have other users subscribe to your vibes.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions or if you need help getting started. Thanks for checking it out!
Best, Brady
