I feel like there’s so much to know that I would never learn without experiencing it

People telling me that I'm an inspiration when I feel the exact opposite.

People say I'm brave. I never got that. I mean if I'd chosen this situation in exchange for some good outcome, I'd get it. Oh, you had to choose to go blind in order to save the fluffy animals or whatever, that would be brave. Just having it happen without any choice or warning and in exchange for nothing isn't brave it's just a pain in the ass. I remember totally agreeing with your video on whether you'd want your sight back and thinking yeah, nobody would actively choose to have to do all this extra work, would they? If I didn't choose it I'm not brave.
Maybe that makes sense, anyway.

No, that totally makes sense to me. Thank you for sharing.

Electric cars that don't make noise. I think it's illegal in some places for them to be silent.

How long everything takes.

I mean, people know things tend to take a blind person a little longer, but I don't think most realize just how much longer. Being blind and productive means you're going to expend a whole lot more energy than your sighted counterparts.

Trivial, I get it. But the inability to drive, having complete freedom. I hate crowds, I hate public transport. I hate relying on others. Makes me feel more disabled than I actually am. I hate drawing attention to myself, a cane and a guide dog will naturally do that whether we like it or not. Driving gets even more important during things like the pandemic for social distancing reasons. I love the idea of social distancing BTW.
