I've been staring at my monitor almost nonstop every day for most of 2020 and 2021 still counting. I am worried about going blind. (self.Blind)

Don’t wory you’ll only be eaten up by the computer screen alive whole and chewed up and spit out as a random number like 42. Hahaha!

Jokes aside. Don’t worry you can’t go blind by that. There may be other issues but that’s not a blinding factor. Many people sit and look at screens for a long long time you’d think everyone would go blind. Haha!

And also being blind isn’t that bad I know many people would rather die then be blind but one can still, live a full and fulfilled life as a blind person not that you have anything to worry about.

I sure hope to find out...I got the appointment but it's in 3 months...

I will try to go outside as much as I can but it's not that easy. Lockdown and the comfort of the pc are too strong especially since half of my work is tied to it, lol.

Reason I got worried so much I guess is because when I close my eyes to sleep I see these "lights" that everyone sees...but they flicker really fast and it's so faint and weird...I googled it and it's apparently tied to some vitreous detachment, further leading to retinal detachment. I see clearly when I open my eyes and these flashes never occur when my eyes are open. I dunno, for now...I'm scared but not yet worried to the point where I will become crazy.

Thats good just relax. You’ll be fine. Sorry I was joking and making light of things. Haha! I don’t think you’re going blind.

Going outside is healthy our bodies need exercise and sunlight. So do that irregardless and you will feel better with the fresh air.

Hmm... talk to your doctor maybe it’s just worry to much and stress or something or thinking to hard about it.

No need to apologize, lol. I'm all for the jokes, they do help when I feel stressful and thank you for this, I will talk to him about this next week.

Good. :D

Also I am totally blind and live a very happy fulfilled life very full one. Do a lot very physically active if I want or not so scattered probably moderately successful too. Another topic not blind related for another day *sigh* I go everywhere, do everything, can cook and stuff do many things I have been doing at least 5 miles a day for the last half a week before that I am very adventurous. I did like 2 or 3. I have traveled to the eastern seaboard all by myself a year and a half ago. Life is definitely possible blind, there’s a few of us in this sub less blind people use it but there are some. I am totally blind too. But I don’t think you’ll have to deal with it anytime soon anyway!

But yeah, relax and rest well and don’t think about it too much, get tons of nutrition, food, and sun, and live a healthy life.

Hi, sighted person here. I'm also shortsighted with vision corrected by glasses. It sounds like you're going through a lot right now. I'm not sure how the system works in your country but when I had migraines starting last year I went to see my regular doctor not an eye doctor. A doctor will be able to look at other issues that might be causing migraines.

Getting migraines as a result of looking at screens too much is uncommon but not unheard of. It doesn't mean you are going blind. For some of us migraines are an unfortunate fact of life but doctors can prescribe medicine to help ease them somewhat.

I'm really concerned about how you said your life was really miserable. That's something I wish nobody would ever have to write. Migraines can contribute to the crappiness of life and I hope that just by having them eased for you this might help your overall mood. But if you generally feel down about life regardless, please also go and see a doctor about that. It isn't normal.

I really hope you are able to get treatment for your migraines soon. I wish I could be there and give you a hug and tell you it's gonna be alright whatever happens. If you have a family member or friend you trust, please let them know what is going on and let them take care of you.

Thank you, that means a lot. I live in Germany. My family and friends take good care of me, I'm thankful for that.

Googling my symptoms on the net really did a number on me but maybe it's for the better, it reminded me to call my eye doctor and my usuall doctor as well. Last year was just chaos and not only for myself but everyone around me...
