People with macular degeneration what colour are the distortions in your vision? (self.Blind)
submitted by PepperPhoenix
Just a bit of curiosity on my part.

The women in my family have a very rare, inherited variant of macular degeneration called Malattia Levantinese or Doyne Honeycomb Retinal Dystrophy (or about 5 other names, it's a strange disease) it mimics MD very closely but the drusen build in a very specific "honeycomb" pattern.

From all I read regarding more advanced MD, the "blobs" in the field of vision are grey. However, my mother, who now has a very advanced case of DHRD describes hers as often being various colours.

So I'm doing a very un-scientific and unofficial study to see if there is a difference between the two conditions.

What colour are your "blobs"?
