I’ve been researching Leber’s Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON) because my doctors think I might have this condition. I came across a documentary about Jared Hara who lost his vision when he was 11. It doesn’t talk too much about the disease itself but more about the family coping with his blindness. There were 2 interactions that stood out to me. The first was between Jared’s parents and how much their relationship was strained. The second was between Jared, who is Jewish, and his friend Ali, who is Muslim. I thought it was an honest film and worth sharing.

It’s from 2006 so maybe some of you have already come across it.
