suggestions to make board and card games accessible for blind family and friends please (self.Blind)
submitted by hsgunney
I am searching for a type of product to help both my husband and a local completely blind teen play games. A flat tray with shallow compartments to keep cards would be awesome. That way cards don't get inadvertently knocked out of play. If you know of such a product please share. I have searched with no luck. I specifically want cards to lay flat, not propped up. Also if you have a favorite game the whole group can enjoy please share! Thanks! We already have scategories, uno, playing cards, one night ultimate werewolf.

I added braille to my Dominion card game, then built an accessible website that I could use as a gameplay index to read the card details while we were playing. A friend of mine found 3D printer files for interlocking card trays and modified them a bit to make them taller and then printed a bunch out so we could keep all the decks on the tableau tidy while playing. Here is my $1

I also added braille to my entire Cards Against Humanity set, including all the expansions. It takes me about 3-4 days to braille the entire box of cards but it's completely worth it! Also added braille to Exploding Kittens.

Thanks. We had our first accessible game night. Our neighbor brailled One Night Ultimate Werewolf so they played that for an hour. My husband came up with some party games that were quite genius. Thanks for the site, I shared your site with my friends.
