Have any of you tried electronic glasses such as eSight? (self.Blind)
submitted by TheJsUser
You see, one of the best and more efficient tools I cout on is my phone, more precisely, it's camera. The image and details it's able to catch are ones my eyes aren't, so I use it to see things far away, or too tiny. I was thinking... if I had the same tecnology, but mounted in front of my eyes as a pair of glasses, I'd be even able to drive (most likely it'd be legaly impossible, tho).

I've searched online and I saw some electronic glasses with that exact functionality. Basically a camera and two LED screens for each eye, wearable like a big and odd pair of glasses, that basically turns the camera into your eyes. eSight is the most attractive https://youtu.be/GXBuJQnba-4

They are expensive as hell, and I was wondering if it was worth it to know if I should give it s try.

Thanks a lot, guys.

They are quite expensive, but they do essentially work the way you described. It's a CCTV that is held in front of your face. They work well for people who have lower visual acuity, but not as well for people with peripheral field loss.

In terms of driving, though, it realistically cuts out too much peripheral fields. I have not tried the eSight 4 yet, but I know the eSight 3 can be flipped up so you can use your lower peripheral vision when walking.
