Survey on Getting Dressed and Wardrobe Organization (self.Blind)
submitted by SushiWithAliens
We're looking to get responses from individuals who are blind, partially sighted, or visually impaired about their habits when it comes to getting dressed and how they store and organize their clothing. This is for a class project in which we are to simulate the entire design process of designing a specific piece of furniture - this includes getting insight into our users in mind for the idea we have and that general field of need. We will not ask for any information that personally identifies you, will make no profit from this, or publish this information beyond the academic setting of the class.  If you would like more information or in any way concerned about how your responses will be used, you can private message me.

The link above is an anonymous link "....that can be pasted into emails or onto a website, and is unable to track identifying information of respondents."

Having read around it seems some people are wary about surveys around here, so of course I'm sure you already know this but you are not in any possible form pushed to respond if you do not wish to do so. I was not sure of another platform to access an open community for those individuals blind or visually impaired so this just seemed like the place to go to.

Your survey comes off as very condescending. It does give off the vibe that we can not dress ourselves. And that it is difficult.

They think my wardrobe is organised!

I just know most of my stuff by touch, and that I don't tends to get a button sewn on it somewhere identifiable.

I'm sorry but why do you think we need help getting dressed? does being blind make us incapable of putting on a t-shirt?

That wasnt what my questions were trying to get at? I wanted to get more insight about more specifically wardrobe organization and how people choose clothing. I watched some youtube videos and noticed people set up their organizations according to different systems to help them identify clothing and wanted to get more information about other peoples perspectives. You can be independent or not and this still be a system worth working on by one’s self or with another person. My questions were meant to gauge about one’s choices in clothing not the physical process of putting on a shirt.

For some reason, it starts off on Question 4, and then 2 and 3. I did not notice a question 1.

Hey, sorry about that it's just a weird thing with the software used to generate the survey and sequence of making question entries, nothing is actually missing.
