What male client do you use on windows.(self.Blind)

edit: I'm sticking to thunderbird. Hopefully an update will fix the xero issue.
Has anyone else experienced this with thunderbird? I've updated to the latest version and whenever I get a new message there's a zero in front of it. I've tried looking on google for an answer but can't find anything.
I'll move to a new client if I have to, the zero thing is quite annoying.

LOL!!! It's *mail* not *male*.
Seriously made me scratch my head there for a second. Thank you for the laugh though, my roommate and I enjoyed it.

Gave me a laugh too- but you have to remember the sub you’re on- speech-to-text devices are rubbish at distinguishing between words like that...

I’m having a laugh too. Honestly, it happens to everyone, sighted or not. It just takes us a little longer to figure it out. 😉

Though, to answer your question: you guys still use email clients? I just use my web browser. A loooooong time ago I might've used Outlook and/or Thunderbird.

I just use a web based interface. No client at all. I have a yahoo mail account for public mail and a gmail account for private mail (less spam). Between the two I can access from any computer PC or Mac that has any browser Firefox, Edge or Safari. All mail is saved and stored on their servers. No worries about my hard drive crashing and losing files. I'm not too worried about anyone accessing or hacking my account as there is nothing that personal saved except purchase receipts.

Ah ok. I prefer thunderbird but thanks for the response.
Laser_Lens_42 points2y ago
Outlook. I don’t bother with anything else anymore.
bradley22 [OP]1 points2y ago
I just tried it and it's not for me. I'll be sticking to thunderbird for now, thanks.

When I did I used outlook a little or the web. I’ve not seriously used windows in 6 or 7 years.
bradley22 [OP]1 points2y ago
Ok.
bradley22 [OP]1 points2y ago
AH ok. Thunderbird is working ok now, if the zeros come back, I hope a new update fixes it.
fawazar941 points2y ago
I use windows mail. the default app with windows.
bradley22 [OP]1 points2y ago
Ok :) I've fixed my issue with thunderbird.

I have been using Thunderbird for several years. I haven't come across this issue yet. I do wish JAWS worked a little better with Thunderbird though.
bradley22 [OP]1 points2y ago
Oh? I use NVDA and it works fine. What issues are you running into?
BenandGracie1 points2y ago
Mainly when writing a message, if I use my braille display to move the cursor, focus doesn't always land where it should. I don't have any problem when using NVDA, so I suspect it is a JAWS issue. I have also encountered it in Firefox as well. I usually just type up my messages in Notepad and paste them in.
bradley22 [OP]1 points2y ago
Yeah it probably is.

I couldn’t get on with Thunderbird. I just kept hitting screen reader issues and gave up on it. Are use the Windows mail client that comes in on Windows 10. So far, touchwood, it’s pretty good
bradley22 [OP]1 points2y ago
That's really interesting, I've been using thunderbird for the last 5 or so years with NVDA and it works fine.
