Low Vision Skills: Putting It All Together (self.Blind)
submitted by LightHouse-SF
The LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired virtual workshop "Low Vision Skills: Putting It All Together" is back! This month we are reaching out to adult-aged clients of the California Department of Rehab to talk with Certified Low Vision Therapists, a UC Berkeley Low Vision Optometrist, and fellow low vision adults about daily struggles, triumphs, and how to maximize your functional vision. Registration deadline for our workshop starting March 29 will be next Monday, March 8. For more information about this program, visit the LightHouse online $1 or read our $1.

The class is only limited to 10 students? Did I see that correctly? I was interested in participating as a student, but when I saw only 10 students, I just cannot do it. I am legally blind, but there are a heck of a lot more people who have less vision than I, who would benefit from these classes. I do not want to take their space.

I commend you guys on doing this because a lot of VI or blind people can really benefit from learning new skills.

Is there any way I could participate in the zoom? Just to listen in to the workshops, or is that limited space for those 10 students? I've never zoomed, so I don't really know how that works.... but I'm sure quite a few people can be on a zoom (call?) (video?) at the same time.

We are offering this class periodically throughout the year and sessions are directed at different audiences each time (i.e. seniors 55+, working age adults, specific clients, etc.) I would encourage you to reach out to our program director, Gina at gdigrazia@lighthouse-sf.org, as she can give you more specific information about the session you want to join. It is a fairly new program and we are newly promoting the class, so we want to fill our spaces with every eager student interested. If you are legally blind and want to learn more about maximizing your vision or simply want to be connected to others with similar a condition you deserve a virtual seat as much as the next person! :)
