DARS through the Texas Workforce Commission are the way to go. They can open a case for you and get you O&M training and a lot more support of you need it. I’m a client with them and work for them so can give a detailed idea of the process

Do they only offer it if you are planning on going back to work?

Also, your local Lighthouse for the Blind should have free O&M services

Criss Cole is a fabulous rehab & O&M center in Austin. It's also run by TWC.

Generally you have to be working or seeking a job and or education. But they also can help point you to other avenues if you don’t want to go that route

Have you been in contact with ARDC? Its what DARS used to be and they should be able to help you.
I know it when it was DARS they got me a couple months of training, so I would think they would as well. I'm trying to see what help I can get myself and just called the other day.
Also did a Google search and there's a website called leader dogs that says they offer free training.

You're welcome. It's was actually someone else on this sub that told me about it because I was having trouble myself.
