Questions to those who gradually lost their visions (self.Blind)
submitted by ljs6741
I know these may be sensitive or rude questions but I want to know more about visual impairment so I hope people won't take my questions emotionally.

How was your transition of gradually losing vision? How did you adjust to the world of the nonvisual world and let other senses replace the place of vision? Also to those who gradually lost their vision completely, do you still dream or think with images? which senses recall your memories the most?

I lost my vision in the timespan of 3 years, was in denial during the entire process, and didn't adapt until 5 years after going totally blind.

I have a very good visual memory, well actually, a very good memory in general, so after 7 years I can still remember people's faces and how things looked, and my dreams are always sighted. In my blindness related dreams I either dream that I never went blind and have just been faking it all along or that my vision has suddenly returned..

is there a particular angle you are coming from on this topic?

I just want to understand how those who gradually lost their vision perceive their world, memorize and recall the memories. Learn more about how they perceive the world and which other remaining senses do they dominantly use.
