Anyone using the latest version of NVDA with Eloquence? (self.Blind)
submitted by Prefect316
Hi all. I found that when I updated my NVDA today the Eloquence add-on was no longer supported. Can someone let me know if they've found a way to utilize Eloquence with the new update beyond dropping $95 at Code Factory?

Also, I'm sure I'll regret this, but does anyone know of a good mailing list for NVDA questions?

or grab the eloquence threshold version on github, easier setup and should work just fine, although the IBMTTS route is a bit more versatile if you care about that sorta thing

What is the trick with the eloquence threshold and on? I do not see it in the settings, nor anywhere else in the NVDA menus. Is it because, perhaps, I am running the latest alpha version?

Not sure if the latest alpha is supported, as that has once again made a lot of addons incompatible.

Problem solved. I downgraded to 2020.4, and everything works well.

Awesome, this fix helped solve the problem. Thanks so much!

Yeah I'm using it like that. You need to download an add-on called IBMTTS. Just google it and you'll find the Github page. Then you need to give it the .DLL file of ETI Eloquence engine JAWS uses. You also can just download a pre-prepared version of the newest NVDA with Eloquence that is available on BlindHelp.net. If you decided to make it yourself and don't have JAWS drop a reply or message so I send the .DLL file to you.

Could you send this to me? I looked in the JAWS program files folder, but not sure which dll file it is, or where to put it for that matter. Also, I did download the IBM TTS addon, but wasn't able to change to it in the settings as of yet.

Here you go. The file is a zip file containing 13 files, including one called ECI.DLL. It's the file you need. For applying the settings you need to open Settings dialogue box, choose IBMTTS category and then activate Browse for IBMTTS library button and use the open dialogue box to find the DLL file. Good luck.
